THE MOST EYE-CATCHING DETAIL IN AN ENGINE BAY
A polished turbocharger is one of the most striking details you can add to a performance engine bay. Pop the hood and it immediately draws the eye — chrome-like aluminum in the middle of a sea of black plastic and painted metal.
At Nautical Polishing in Burleson, TX, we specialize in polishing turbo components for show builds, performance builds, and customers who just want their engine bay to look as good as it runs. We've worked on turbos from small domestic performance cars to large compound diesel setups on lifted trucks.

TURBO COMPONENTS WE POLISH
Compressor Covers
The most visible part of the turbo — the large aluminum housing on the cold side. Polishing the cover is the signature move for show builds.
Turbine Housings
The exhaust-side housing, typically cast iron or stainless. We can polish stainless turbine housings to complement the compressor side.
Intake Pipes & Charge Pipes
Aluminum intake and charge pipes polished to a mirror along their full length — from the filter or intercooler to the compressor inlet.
Intercooler End Tanks
The aluminum end tanks of your front-mount or top-mount intercooler polished to match the rest of your build.
Turbo Manifolds
Stainless or mild steel turbo manifolds polished and heat discoloration removed for show-level underhood presentation.
Full Engine Bay Kits
We can coordinate turbo polishing with exhaust, engine part, and intake polishing for a full show-quality engine bay.
HOW WE APPROACH TURBO POLISHING
Turbo components require more care than a flat plate or a simple tube. Compressor covers have complex casting geometry — ribs, fins, and tight radii that need to be reached without overworking adjacent surfaces. Turbine housings often have heat scale and discoloration that needs to come off before polishing can begin.
Our approach: we assess each piece, identify the material (aluminum, stainless, or cast iron), remove any heat discoloration or oxidation first, then work through polishing stages appropriate for the material and condition. We don't rush through tight areas or skip hard-to-reach spots.
We only polish external cosmetic surfaces — we never touch internal turbine wheels, bearing journals, or any precision surface. Performance is unaffected.
OUR WORK
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does turbo polishing affect performance?
No. We only polish external cosmetic surfaces — compressor cover exterior, housing, piping. We never touch internal turbine wheels, bearing surfaces, or any precision component. Performance is completely unaffected.
What parts of the turbo can be polished?
Compressor covers, turbine housings (stainless), intake and charge pipes, intercooler end tanks, and turbo manifolds. We don't polish internal components.
Does the turbo need to come off the engine?
For most work, yes — at least the individual components need to be removed. Some external piping can be done on the car depending on access, but a proper job on the compressor cover requires it to come off.
Can you match the turbo to the rest of my engine bay?
Yes. Pair turbo polishing with our engine part polishing and exhaust polishing for a complete show-quality underhood look. We can do all the pieces at once.
